Randy Miller is an accomplished lawyer whose practice focuses on environmental litigation as well as regulatory and enforcement matters involving the petroleum industry. Since becoming licensed in 1977 he has earned a national reputation as an experienced lawyer in the area of environmental litigation capable of handling any dispute involving property damage claims, with special emphasis on historical exploration, production, refining and transportation operations, and groundwater pollution matters. He is also recognized for his skill in the development and use of computer and communications technologies for organizing and presenting complex environmental cases and maintains extensive professional relationships with numerous nationally recognized technical experts in the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
Mr. Miller's practice is national in scope, with a significant portion of his caseload involving multi-party and class action litigation in the Rocky Mountain and Southwest oil and gas producing states. He has represented such pre-merger companies as ARCO, Amoco, Exxon, Vastar and Parker Drilling, as well as post-merger majors Conoco/Phillips, Chevron, Texaco and OXY and others in environmental litigation involving historical operation, oil field production and enhanced recovery, refining, pipeline, and acquisitions, divestitures and indemnity-related litigation.
Mr. Miller is a member of the Tulsa County, Oklahoma, Federal, and American Bar Associations.
He is a frequent author and speaker on subjects pertaining to environmental litigation.
In 2003, Mr. Miller was invited to appear at the 54th Annual Institute on Oil and Gas Law as a featured presenter on the topic of "Developments in Pollution Litigation Case Law in Oil and Gas-Producing States."
Mr. Miller is a supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. His involvement and contribution in Tulsa's youth sports has been a catalyst in establishing a program for under-privileged young men to participate in AAU basketball.
Mr. Miller graduated from the University of Tulsa with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 and his Juris Doctorate in 1977.
Appointed Special Attorney General by Oklahoma to pursue poultry industry for animal waste pollution in Eastern Oklahoma surface waters and watersheds.
Represented Sovereign Native American Tribes and the County of Ecuador in multi-district litigation involving complex environmental claims.
Won Landmark $200 Million Jury Verdict (with Bill Keffer) in Texas for environmental claims against company that polluted major regional source of drinking water.
Author (with Bill Keffer) of Environmental Legal Treatise materials on Environmental Litigation Affecting the Oil and Gas Industry.
